Hello Lorem offers free, fictional placeholder infomation for designers and developers to use in their projects. Started as a random collection of text file I would use in Sketch and has grown to a collection of over 115 text files of placeholder infomation I have need in the past.

It is meant to be a representation of what the final design will look like, but it is not the actual content that will eventually be used. While this may seem like a great idea and a time saver, there are some major drawbacks to using lorem ipsum.
In the early stages of a design, lorem ipsum can be extremely helpful. However, we designers tend to cut the lorem ipsum text when it fits the layout we have in mind. But real content rarely the same length and may not fit into our intended layouts. Leading to more time being spent reworking the layout. Using real content later in the design process lets you focus on structure and content simultaneously. Letting you build better layouts.
Lorem ipsum typically contains gibberish and Latin words. This can be confusing and distracting, especially for the client. Clients are usually looking for actual content to be placed in designs, not random Latin words. Which lead to the client cherry picking text over focusing on your design.
Another issue with using lorem ipsum is that it doesn’t give the design any real context. The text is meaningless and doesn’t provide the designer with any indication of the tone, style, or subject of the design. Without the actual content, it can be difficult for the designer to accurately create a design that matches the client’s expectations. It can also lead to a lack of clarity in the design, as the designer won’t be able to accurately convey the message of the content that will eventually be used.
Lorem Ipsum is literally Latin to your users; it only good in fill space, but it can’t convey emotion or message that you want want. Design with purpose, not with filler copy.

However, lorem ipsum wasn’t actually used as a placeholder in its current form until the 1960s, were it was printed on dry-transfer sheets and used by architects, designers and advertisers. Then, in the 1980s, it was added to word-processing programs on modern computers.
